Brand New X-Men Roleplay!

  • Oct. 13th, 2008 at 1:49 AM

In the year 2008, the X-Men move from New York to San Francisco to make a new life for themselves.  It is their chance to start over and maybe find a place to further Xavier's dream without everyone knowing where they live or who they are in their 'normal' lives.  Things to not go completely as planned as San Francisco already has a force to be reckoned with lurking in its shadows.

The Western Branch of the Hellfire Club has existed in San Francisco for many years and has built up its powerbase there quite well.  When the X-Men come to town and the mayor embraces them a little too completely, the Hellfire Club decides to do anything they can to ensure the X-Men do not stay in 'their' city

[info]xmen_purgatory is a brand new, AU X-Men roleplay that will open for business on October 17th or when we have ten characters.  :)  I'm DC or Dave and can't wait to get started roleplaying.  Good luck!  I hope to see you applying and  roleplaying soon!.

Music Almighty 2.0

  • Oct. 13th, 2008 at 6:06 AM
This is the 3/4 view of the updated headphone design for WOM World / Nokia's "Music Almighty" competition promotion. I'mpleased with the outcome, especially considering the number of hours spent experimenting with various shading techniques and perspective tweaks! The neck band's colouring in particular was done several times.. I had to force myself to put down the tablet pen! As always, check out the full view for detailing.

The perspective of the right side ear piece is a little out, and I could have done even more to the shading on the band... guess thats the artists curse. This has definitely been a much harder and challenging project for me.

Hello! I have a lot of fun looking at this community, and like many others this is my first post. I bought this container (along with a salad and a shake container) at Target during the summer...and am just now bringing it out. Fairly simple, but I hope to have more fun with my lunches eventually.

Any suggestions for a girl with a small kitchen and not a lot of time to make lunch or dinner on most occasions?  My diet has been so terrible as of late and I would really like to get my nutrition on in a rather easy manner.

Also, my freezer is super small and a little crazy (freezer burns most everything over night... I can't find the stupid dial =/) so making an abundance of anything and then freezing it is sadly out of the question.  :(

Thanks a lot in advance, I look forward to eating some quick and nutritious yum yums soon!

Bento 9!

  • Oct. 13th, 2008 at 10:30 AM
This bento was made with the other two (which was inspired by [info]sarakate!). It was last night's dinner.

Two mini hanbagu (beef patty, essentially), edamame rice with ground gomashio (sesame and salt), cherry tomatoes. All laying on a bed of lettuce. I have a packet of soy sauce for my rice (what?! I like it like that!) and a mustard & ketchup combo pack.

Weird thing is: this bento tasted like McDonalds. o.o It was really good, but very strange. XD

Lyudmila Chudinova is a plagiarist...

I posted a review of a concert months ago. It turns out someone named Lyudmila Chudinova copied my review and posted it under her own name here.

The review was originally published here and here.

Hi! I'm new to the Bento stuff, I've been a member for a couple of months and haven't posted any of mine. Mostly, I use the large lock and lock boxes I got at Wal*Mat, but what I really want is a cute bento box but I have a couple of problems. Mostly, I've seen the little ones and it doesn't seem like they would hold enough food. Is there a larger size bento? Also, I have no idea where to get them... there are a few websites I've seen, but I can't tell how large the boxes are.

Also, I need one for my husband of the same size, but that isn't cutesy, y'know?

Top tier: mystery onigiri, edamame, mashed cauliflower, red and yellow bell pepper, liver underneath

Bottom tier: peanut butter and honey sandwich, fruit leather, dried cranberries

Bento lunch sets on my etsy shop

  • Oct. 12th, 2008 at 6:02 PM
Hey, I've been making some bento lunch sets to sell and I thought you guys might be interested. I'll be adding more in the next few days.

These are more stylish than childish. I know some people want a cute lunch, but want something more grown-up looking. I have some more cutesy ones that I'll upload in the next couple days.

WOW! They both sold in about an hour!
If you wanted to see, here are pictures of them. I'll have more for sale tomorrow, but they'll be pink or green. )
Sure, I could have been doing some homework but I have a long weekend and I thought I could best use my time browsing for new (or not yet posted) photos of Bianca, Kimberly, Lisa, and Mila from Cycle 9.

Mini-bento for work.

  • Oct. 13th, 2008 at 12:24 AM
No idea why, but the camera refused making a sharp picture of this bento, which I made before going to work. As usually, whenever I eat (as I am supposed to) before work, we get some food on the location. ..But it was till good to have this small box to munch on during the ride home. ^^

Nori-wrapped plain rice onigiri, coffee-filled chocolate, Babybell cheese, steamed broccoli and carrots & various cured fish
After taking this picture and closing the box, I decided that I want to fill it more, so that everything inside will sit more tightly, and added two radishes ^_^

Bento Hint

  • Oct. 12th, 2008 at 5:30 PM
Here's a little tip:

I've always loved ramekins (the little ceramic containers that you get sauce n stuff in at restaurants, for example), even before I knew about bentos. And I've found that they can really come in handy when trying to put together a nice lunch.

Well, shame shame shame on me, but lots of times, I would just take them from restaurants. Eventually, I asked a server, because I was afraid I was getting them in trouble or something. He said not to worry about it - that half the time they just throw them away anyways!

So I'm not necessarily suggesting that you start stealing... But if you go to a restaurant, and you like the thing that your condiment is served in, if you ask, your server might have no problem with you taking it home with you! Hope that's helpful :)
